Welcome. You’ve come to the right place. Here you can find replica’s of the Police & Mad Max style of radio’s, lights and sirens as used n Australia during the 1980’s. Typically, the Siren electronics was made by a now defunct LockTronic Siren with their logo on the front shown as LTS, so these sirens are now simply referred to as LTS Sirens. Since they are now well over 40 years old they are very difficult to find, and IF you can find one, you’re lucky IF it still works and you can expect to pay over A$1000 for it. So, I have my compatible version of this sort after box, a replica of the box. The sirens noises that my LTS unit supplies are recorded direct from an original LTS unit so they are exactly the same. I made the first one a couple of years ago, and then later I added a working P.A. module to the electronics so that the microphone is useful. My LTS units feature three sirens sounds which are Wail, Yelp and a mix of both, plus I have the press button for Intercept which is a single rise & fall of the Wailing sound. Additionally, I include a heavy relay so that you can switch on/off the Light bar or rotating beacons, and another switch activates the strobing LED that could be fixed to the front bumper.

The LTS Sirens were used in Police vehicles, and Ambulances & Fire Engines throughout the 1980’s, they were also used in the Mad Max Vehicles. These were REAL Sirens. The Sirens did NOT contain any radio communications. For the Mad Max movies, they used a made up overhead console radio, now just known as an RVS Radio because it had visible lettering on the front panel, RVS with flashing lights. It was just a “movie magic” radio made up radio without actual communications possible. Ross Beckly makes a really nice replica RVS radio complete with recorded movie radio chatter and flashing lights. I don’t make these, but for ease, you can buy through me and I”ll source it for from Rossco.

The Goose – I started my Mad Max journey by buying a 1982 KZ-1000LTD. Wasn’t running well and after throwing a lot of money it now great great. Bought the kit from the only seller on Oz eBay for the fairing. They are fairly poor fitting and zero m mounting hardware, you have to figure it all out for yourself.
